UNDER 13's END OF SEASON TOUR
All the age groups travelled to the Unity Resort at Brean Sands in Somerset to take part in various tournaments or matches over a weekend period. The under 13's played on the sunday in what should have been a mini tournament against Chew Valley and Yatton R.F.C. at Chew Valley's ground.
New Panteg played Chew Valley first and even with having to adapt to different rules, that is pushing in the scrums, they did very well pushing Chew back on most occasions, this combined with good rucking and mauling allowing the forwards to provide the backs with superb ball which they took advantage of by breaking the oppositions defensive line on many occasions.
New Panteg soon opened the scoring with tries coming from Dominic Flowers (3) all of which were converted by Alex Gwatkin. Panteg then allowed Chew Valley to score a good try with our boys looking somewhat tired after their partying of the night before, but with some fresh legs sent on Panteg turned out to be too strong for their opponents with further tries scored by Curtis Griffiths (3), Josh "Mousey" Lewis, Josh "Chicken" Harris (3) and captain Ash Jeffries who also converted his try, the game turned into a good all round performance by the whole squad.
As it was Yatton failed to turn up so the boys had to make do with some fun and games (eagerly led by Harry) in the clubhouse.
We would like to thank Chew Valley R.F.C. for the welcome and the hospitality shown to us throughout the day.
